Toy Army Men Across Europe

I’ve mentioned in previous posts that Dan and I have started collecting army men when we travel. This didn’t start out as a collection. We found some cool Revolutionary lead army guys in a boutique in Amsterdam, so we bought them.

A few weeks later when we were in Cologne, we saw some tiny army and cowboys in a pawn shop window, and bought those. We have never gone out of our way to find any of them. They just happen to catch our eye while we’re out and about. We always marvel at how cool it is that we keep running across them. I’ve tried digging a little deeper with the shop owners to discover their origin, but they never know too much.

Revolutionary men from Amsterdam
Army and Cowboys from Cologne
American and French soldiers from Paris
Knights from Bavaria
Romans from along The Rhine
Old School German soldiers (?) from Saarbrücken

  1. I'm a Denver girl, too, but now I live in Phoenix, AZ. I've never been to Germany and I'm enjoying reading about it vicariously through you!

    1. Oh, thanks! It's so much fun. I definitely miss those Rocky Mountains, but I'll have to settle for the rolling hills of this area...
