K-town Saturday Ramblings

It’s been a while since one of these! As you can see, we’ve been busy, and if you follow me anywhere else on social media, you know that I got a job (which has been adding to the "busy-ness").

It’s nothing glamorous… yet anyway. But it is something that gives me support to stay in the country, which is something I’ve been searching for for the past 9 months. So needless to say, it was time for celebration. And we did so in the middle of the night because that’s when Dan and my schedules now match.

With the job comes a means of transportation, so we picked up this beauty for me to drive. Hashtag DOMESTIC! I personally think its adorable and can’t wait to scoot around town in it; although a wee bit terrified as I haven’t driven in a while…and never in Europe. (Autobahn here I come!)

Along with a job and a car, something else that is normalizing us here are friends! We’ve been getting out of our comfort zones and meeting new people, attending events, and last weekend hosting one of our own.

We had a pot luck brunch at our place. We provided boozy morning drinks and everyone else brought a dish and a board game. About 15 people showed up, which made things quite cozy in our small apartment. It was a great time and we met a lot of cool/interesting/international people.

The last part of this ‘ramble’ is my favorite. At this very moment two of my favorite people are probably at a wine festival with me in Germany. Shannon and Kelly both happen to be in this part of the world this weekend, so they came to my town and I’m showing them around. I feel pretty lucky to have friends that are little travel bees as well so our paths can cross so often.

Throwback to 4th of July 2012.

Prost, ya'll! Shock, out.
