Chambers Lake Colorado

It’s no question that Dan and I have missed the Rocky Mountains. Not only that, but just being in nature. The beginning of our relationship was founded on camping trips, so they’re extra special to me. So while visiting Colorado, we went camping with Dan’s parents at Chambers Lake.

It’s about an hour up the Poudre Canyon. We were in Fort Collins the night before, so not too bad of a drive from there. We went the night of Labor Day. As we were driving up the Canyon, we saw all the holiday traffic leaving. When we arrived- the campground was nearly empty- we had our choice of the lots.

It was a gorgeous Colorado summer day, and the scenery is that area was phenomenal. We parked near the lake and set up the pop up trailer. We spent the rest of the afternoon hiking, fishing, hot dogging, camp firing and smoring. Dan was even a little lumberjack and chopped us some wood in true burly man fashion. Swoon.

Since we were some of the only people there, it was extra peaceful the next morning. One of my favorite things about camping is the next morning. The dewy fresh air, the smell of the trees, the sun slowly warming everything and just the stillness of the world for short while.

On the drive up... little pop up in front of us

I'm helping out so much with the campsite. Selfie!

That's Ben fishing.

Good  form, Dan

Ummm meat.
