Breckenridge in Pictures, Restaurants and Selfies

One of the reasons I love Breckenridge so much is because I think its one of the only true ski TOWNS.

Not just a village outside the lift with overpriced food and drinks. Breckenridge has a community and culture and some really amazing new restaurants. I love trying to restaurants, new food, and to drink new places. I wish there was a less pretentious word than “foodie”.

My mom and I definitely took advantage of new restaurants, amazing views, nice weather and cheap happy hours.

On the drive up there- woah mountains.

View of the mountain from Main Street

Above is a new restaurant in Breck called Blue Stag Saloon. This is a restaurant I would take out of town visitors. It's just so... Colorado. From the decor to the variety of meats to the beer list. I usually don't take picture of my food, but this smoked salmon BLT was MAC DADDY. It was so delicious and smoked to perfection. Highly recommended.

Traverse is another restaurant we tried. We usually like to stick to Main Street- as our condo shuttle will take us there for free. Traverse is located in the basement of The Lodge at Breckenridge up Boreas Pass. We had a cab bring us up there.

It was... interesting. Their menu has a few tapas that we tried and were decent. But the atmosphere was bizarre. I'm sure it has to with it's not necessarily super assessable, so mostly guests eat there. But it was so quite in there. They had huge TV's above the bar where we sat which were not on. There was no music playing, so you could literally hear everyones conversation. We had a glass of wine, a few appetizers and split. Now we know.

One of my ALL TIME favorite things to do in Breckenridge, is to take the gondola to Peak 8, sit outside the T-Bar people watching.  It's right at the base of the mountain in full view of the halfpipe. Yes, please.

Other Breckenridge Restaurant Recommendations:

Blue River Bistro has THE BEST happy hour- buy one get one martinis... with an almost overwhelmingly large martini list. Their wine list is also pretty legit. Additionally, for happy hour, they have discounted appetizers which are amaze. Order: Brushetta, Honey and Cashew Encrusted Brie, Fried Ravioli with Guacamole.

Modis is a cool, lively wine bar. I've never eaten here, but its a cool place to get a drink.

Ritas is my jam. The only thing they have on the menu are killer margaritas and delicious custom tacos. Need I say more? Go early- it's tiny in there.

Kenosha is always a good go to. They have a cool main bar, and a large upstairs if you need. The have a ton of great beers on tap and their menu is legit.
