Eat CS: Springs Orleans

This is a restaurant that boasts the taste of New Orleans in “the heart of downtown Colorado Springs.” (ha).

We decided to go here before we went to see The Nutcracker at the Pikes Peak Theater. The show was at 7:30pm, so dinner had to be a bit early at 5:30pm. We made a reservation, as my mom recommended. When we walked in (30 minutes after they opened), we were the only ones in the restaurant. Oh well.

It was still happy hour, so I was able to order my wine on the cheap.

For dinner, Dan got the Louisiana Andouille Sausage and Chicken Gumbo. I got the Blackened Catfish Po Boy and we shared the Chicken Cobb Salad.

The salad was probably the most interesting part of the meal. It came it a tall mound of mixed ingredients. Good, but odd.

The Po Boy was good… but a little too much bread for me. Dan liked his gumbo, but it was on the small side.

This place has an amazing Louisiana menu, but the portions are on the small side, so be prepared to order an appetizer and salad with your meal if you plan on getting full.
