Visiting Tucson, AZ

Tucson is just 100 miles from Phoenix, and a city I had the pleasure of visiting last week for a conference.

It was held at the JW Marriott in town and was freakin gorgeous. Probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at, not to mention the views were spectac.

The majority of my time there was spent in the hotel at the conference, but I did get some time to check out downtown- although I was a wee bit tipsy, I rode there in a dark bus and our promised tour guide didn't show. So basically, we were just dumped in downtown Tucson at 8pm.

A big of exploring was done, a few bars were hopped, but after a few hours, I was donzo. So then an adventure of acquiring bananas (for the next day) and going through In and Out via Uber ensued.

That was night one.

On my way out of town, I wanted to stop and get some tamales for my mom. So I headed to the Tucson Tamale Company. On my way there, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful Tucson is. Some of the below pictures capture it (or what I could through my car window) so I found some on Google to show you.

My mom asked me if I would ever go back there to visit for fun. And while I didn't hate it, I think there's some other places I would prioritize before Tucson.
